What does feeling free in your body mean to you? 

Our bodies are capable of amazing physical feats, and they are also wonderful records of our lived experiences, with sometimes long-lasting effects. Loss of a loved one, loss of a way of life, and loss of meaningful physical objects can all have an impact on the body.

What would speaking freely without a sense of stuckness in your throat be like?

Do you feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders?

Do you feel your heart closing in or tension around your chest?

Do you feel stuckness or stiffness in your hips?

Do you feel like you have a lump or rock in your throat that just won’t move?

This doesn’t have to be your lived experience any more.  Movement and sound are powerful ways to shift stuck emotions, open up areas of your body clogged with old patterns, fears, stress and anxiety. 

Imagine having 8 glorious weeks with two heart-centered professionals to guide you through each chakra, shifting grief along the way. Using meditation, movement, soundscapes and sharing circles, Grace Harman and Jen Lang will share their wisdom and guide you through this process.

WEEK ONE: This week lays the foundation for the whole course. We look at the root chakra and how it is fundamental to supporting the rest of the energy bodies. 

WEEK TWO: We explore the sacral chakra, the creation space, and how sound and movement can bring new energy and expansion to this space. 

WEEK THREE: The solar plexus chakra is the personal power place. We will look at how to expand this power center while honoring the grief process. 

WEEK FOUR: The heart - the center of this process, we will look at supporting you to create nourishing space around the grief that you hold in your heart.

WEEK FIVE: This week we will explore the expression of grief through your throat chakra energy centre. Jen will guide a voice and sound process specific to allowing grief to move.

WEEK SIX: We move into the third eye chakra and explore ways to see grief in ourselves and in others in a different light. 

WEEK SEVEN: This week we explore and open up to the expansion in our crown chakra, allowing our collective wisdom to guide the process of moving through grief. 

WEEK EIGHT: We wrap up the course with a practice that unifies all 7 chakra energy centers and explore how grief has moved through us these past 8 weeks. 

What to expect in Moving your Grief...

This is an experiential 8-week course that explores how grief lives and moves through each of the 7 main Chakras/energy centers. Each week includes a meditation to land in that chakra, a brief discussion of how grief impacts that particular chakra and a movement practice+sound journey to help that energy get unstuck along with a sharing circle. No previous movement or dance experience is necessary. 

You’ll be asked to bring an item that is symbolic for that week’s energy centre for you to each meeting. As the course continues, the items and experiences will lead to a fully embodied experience of moving through grief, releasing old, stuck energy, and embracing new ways of moving and being in the world.

This course is right for you if:

You are ready to explore moving grief through your body in a progressive and meaningful way.

This course is not right for you if:

You do not have an additional support system in place (see examples above).

You have additional support, such as friends, family, counseling, community or spiritual support, while you are grieving and exploring this material.

You are open to movement and sound experiences that provide emotional and physical release through the grieving process.

You aren’t prepared to dedicate some time and energy towards shifting your grief.

You are not ready to explore grief and experience it in your physical body.

All calls will run 75-90 Minutes. Plan to have some quiet time after calls have wrapped up.

If you come across this before the second week (btw April 30th and May 6th, but not after) you are more than welcome to register for the course. You will receive the recording of the first gathering upon registration.

All calls will be recorded and kept/accessible until August 18th, 2022.

Meet your facilitators...

Grace was born and raised in Philly, trained in Chicago and is based in New Orleans.

Her full-time work is centered on uplifting the imperative role of the body and movement in processing and metabolizing grief, which she does through individual programs, groups and events.

She also provides embodied grief training and consulting for therapists, social workers, other space-holders and the organizations they work for.

Jen Lang guides people in business to tune into and align their inner voice so their outer voice can shine. Using voice, sound, words and movement, Jen works intuitively with the whole person, combining physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energies so they can confidently share their magic and message with the world.  Jen has combined her unique cross-modality expertise to create a unique and comprehensive experience for her clients. She has a Master’s Degree in Voice Performance from McGill University, is a Reiki Master, and a 3rd dan black belt in Karate. She is also a sound healer and intuitive channel.

 Jen’s clients have reported profound shifts in feeling more confident, overall wellbeing, and speaking their truth when working with her. Supporting people in developing their own intuitive skills is a cornerstone of her work and travels hand-in-hand with a person’s natural energetic cycle.
